Perfect Union Dispensaries Support Last Prisoner Project with July Fundraiser

MWG Holdings Group, Inc., a prominent cannabis company in California, has announced the continuation of its partnership with the Last Prisoner Project through an in-store fundraising campaign at its Perfect Union dispensaries until the end of July. This initiative underscores the industry's commitment to rectifying the injustices stemming from cannabis prohibition and the War on Drugs.

The Last Prisoner Project, established in 2019, focuses on freeing individuals incarcerated for cannabis offenses and mitigating the effects of criminalization through advocacy, policy reform, and direct support. Angelica Sanchez, MWG Holdings’ VP of Government Affairs and Compliance, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating it reflects the company's belief in justice and equity for those affected by now-legalized activities.

Since 2020, MWG and the Last Prisoner Project have collaborated to raise funds for legal support, policy reform advocacy, reentry services, and community support for those impacted by cannabis-related incarcerations. The project has significantly contributed to the cause, redistributing over $3.5 million to those in need and providing legal assistance to more than 400 individuals.
