Garden Society Acquires Chemistry to Expand Craft Cannabis Offerings

Garden Society, a woman-owned cannabis brand known for its award-winning edibles, has announced the acquisition of Chemistry in an all-equity deal. This strategic move not only broadens Garden Society's product categories to include tinctures, cartridges, and other artisanal products but also enhances its manufacturing capabilities. Erin Gore, CEO and Founder of Garden Society, emphasized the shared values between the two brands, such as craft legacy and a commitment to staying true to the plant, as foundational to the acquisition.

Both Garden Society and Chemistry, established in 2016, have built their reputations on small-batch production, sustainable farming practices, and full-spectrum cannabis products. This alignment ensures a seamless integration of Chemistry into Garden Society's licensed manufacturing supply chain and distribution channels, particularly in California and Ohio. The acquisition also paves the way for both brands to enter the New Jersey market this spring, marking their East Coast debut.

Paul Roethle, CEO and Founder of Chemistry, will join Garden Society's executive team as Vice President of Product. Roethle, who holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from UC-Berkeley, expressed enthusiasm for the merger, highlighting the synergies between the two brands in combining science and nature to deliver premium cannabis products.

Originally a bespoke women's brand in wine country, Garden Society has evolved into a nationally recognized name, celebrated for its delicious edibles and strain-specific offerings. The acquisition of Chemistry, its first, represents a significant step in Garden Society's mission to disseminate craft values and products across diverse markets and categories.
